TRAUN Backs Czech Pet Health Platform VETSTOR to Accelerate Digital Veterinary Care Across Europe

Prague, Czech Republic | June 2026 — Central and Eastern European venture capital firm TRAUN has announced a strategic investment in VETSTOR, a Czech pet-health technology startup developing a digital platform that connects veterinarians and pet owners through personalized healthcare services and data-driven wellness solutions.

Although the financial terms of the investment were not disclosed, the transaction underscores growing investor confidence in Europe’s rapidly expanding digital pet healthcare sector, where demand for connected veterinary services, preventive healthcare and pet insurance continues to accelerate.

VETSTOR’s platform is designed to consolidate an individual pet’s medical history into a secure digital health record, enabling veterinarians and pet owners to make more informed healthcare decisions throughout the animal’s lifetime. The company aims to leverage this clinical data to deliver personalized recommendations for nutrition, preventive care and wellness products, while also enabling insurance providers to develop risk-based premium models tailored to each pet’s health profile.

The platform is currently available in the Czech Republic and the company plans to expand into additional European markets as part of its next phase of growth.

Digital Pet Healthcare Attracts Investor Interest

The investment comes amid sustained growth in Europe’s companion animal industry, where digitalization is reshaping veterinary practice management, pharmacy, diagnostics, telemedicine and insurance.

According to the latest industry estimates, Europe is home to more than 340 million companion animals, including approximately 129 million cats and 106 million dogs, making it one of the world’s largest pet care markets. The broader European pet economy is estimated to exceed €50 billion annually, with digital veterinary services representing one of its fastest-growing segments.

Industry analysts estimate that the global digital pet care market—including telemedicine, connected health platforms, remote monitoring and digital veterinary services—is expected to grow at a double-digit annual rate through the end of the decade, driven by increasing pet ownership, greater spending on preventive healthcare and wider adoption of digital technologies by veterinary clinics.

Personalised Healthcare Through Veterinary Data

Unlike conventional pet-care applications that primarily focus on appointment scheduling or vaccination reminders, VETSTOR seeks to build a comprehensive digital health ecosystem centered around longitudinal medical records.

The company believes that structured clinical data can be used to improve health outcomes by supporting:

  • Personalised nutritional recommendations

  • Preventive healthcare planning

  • Medication management

  • Early disease detection

  • Customised insurance products

  • Improved communication between veterinarians and pet owners

The approach mirrors broader trends in human healthcare, where integrated electronic medical records and personalized medicine are increasingly influencing clinical decision-making.

Experienced Leadership Team

VETSTOR is led by Chief Executive Officer Lucie Brabcová, alongside Chief Technology Officer Nikola Safranek, former managing partner at software engineering company Applifting. The original concept for the platform was developed within Prague-based startup studio BUDETO, co-founded by Petr Kovacik.

TRAUN said the investment aligns with its strategy of supporting founders across Slovakia and the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region who are applying technology to transform traditional industries.

Growing demand for preventive veterinary care, coupled with rising pet healthcare expenditure, has encouraged investors to back technology companies capable of integrating veterinary data with consumer-facing services.

As pet owners increasingly expect digital access to healthcare information similar to that available in human medicine, integrated platforms such as VETSTOR are expected to play a larger role in Europe’s evolving companion animal ecosystem.

While the Czech Republic represents the company’s initial commercial market, the latest investment is expected to support product development and expansion into additional European countries, positioning VETSTOR to participate in the rapidly growing digital transformation of veterinary healthcare.
